Hoboken
A city of northeast New Jersey on the Hudson River opposite Manhattan.
Now a railroad hub and busy seaport, it was once a resort and
amusement center for New Yorkers before the mid-19th century.
Why is Hoboken significant to the show?
1.) It is one of the busiest rail road hubs in the United States, making it an excellent place to get lost and confused in.
2.) Because it continues a tradition. Many
Vaudeville performers used odd names of in their routines. Other
city names that are used in classic routines would be:
Niagara
Fall, (a slow link), Pokipse and Kookamonga.
